Oleuropein (CAS 32619-42-4) is the key bioactive component extracted from the leaves of the olive tree (Olea europaea L.). It belongs to the secoiridoid glycoside class of phenolic compounds and serves as the main marker ingredient in olive leaf extract. Olive leaves are an abundant, lowcost renewable resource (accounting for approximately 10% of the total olive harvest). Using modern extraction techniques, highvalue raw materials rich in oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, luteolin7glucoside and other phenolic derivatives can be obtained.
In cosmetics, oleuropein is praised as the “gold standard for soothing and repairing”. Its formulation applications cover most cosmetic dosage forms, including serums, toners, gels, creams, facial cleansers, and body washes. It can act as a core functional ingredient alone or be combined with other actives for synergistic effects, adapting to various formulation conditions.
