White mulberry is native to Northern China area, which is a small variety of the mulberry tree, the scientific name is Morus alba. The white mulberry leaves are a primary source of nutrients for silkworms, which serve as a major industry. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the fruits, bark and leaves are used in different forms, due to their high flavonoid content, along with other nutrients, such as vitamin C, calcium, and iron.
The white mulberry (Morus alba) tree root, leaves, bark, and fruits are used in medicine for laxative and antiseptic purposes, also used to reduce cholesterol and control of diabetes.
