2023.09.15

When it comes to these topics of youth and beauty, or whitening, antioxidants, we have to talk about the star substance that has frequently appeared in the public eye in recent years--resveratrol.

Why is it helpful for handsome men and beautiful women to achieve the pursuit of whitening, anti-aging, antioxidant aspirations? Today let’s tell you about Resveratrol.

Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound mainly derived from polygonum cuspidatum, grape, peanut, mulberry and other plants. It is a kind of natural polyphenols with strong biological properties, and is a chemopreventive agent for tumor, and also a chemopreventive agent for reducing platelet aggregation, preventing and treating atherosclerosis and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.. It also has anti-oxidation and anti-free radical effects.

The effect of resveratrol

1. Fever reduction and analgesic effect

Resveratrol exerts therapeutic effect through many different ways and has certain antipyretic and analgesic activities. Studies in intact mice and rats have shown that resveratrol can give the gastric mucosa the ability to resist stress ulcers caused by suppressed gastric secretion without affecting blood pressure.

2. Cardiovascular protective effect

In folk, Polygonum cuspidatum, a Chinese medicine rich in resveratrol, has long been used to treat and prevent hyperlipemia and arteriosclerosis.

Studies have shown that resveratrol mainly plays the role of anti-atherosclerosis and prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease from the following aspects :1.regulate blood lipids 2, inhibit platelet agglutination, promote fibrinolysis, and anti-thrombotic effect; 3, protect vascular endothelium, and inhibit endothelial cell proliferation; 4, protect vascular smooth muscle cells and   inhibit their proliferation; 5, anti-leukocyte effect;

3. Prevent heart and liver damage

Resveratrol inhibited the deposition of triglycerides and cholesterol in the liver of mice. It can also increase the levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase by inhibiting the lipid peroxidation in the liver of mice. By analyzing these two enzymes in the serum, the diagnostic information of the heart and liver can be obtained.

4. Antithrombotic function

Resveratrol inhibits the synthesis of lipoxygenase, an enzyme found in white blood cells, the heart, brain, lungs and spleen. So resveratrol prevents the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels. And after treatment with antihypertensive drug, it also inhibits platelet aggregation.

5. Boost immune system activity

Resveratrol may also promote burn healing by boosting the immune system. The efficacy of resveratrol in restoring inhibited cellular, humoral, and non-specific immune function in scalded mice has been investigated, providing a drug-dependent immunomodulatory effect on the controlled use of resveratrol.

6. Anti-oxidation, anti-free radical effect

Resveratrol is a natural antioxidant in plants. It plays an antioxidant role by scavenging or inhibiting the generation of free radicals, inhibiting lipid peroxidation, and regulating the activity of antioxidant-related enzymes.

7. Anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects

Resveratrol can inhibit Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, pseudomonas aeruginosa, orphan virus, herpes simplex virus, enterovirus, Coxsackie group A and B. By reducing platelet adhesion, resveratrol changes platelet activity in the anti-inflammatory process to achieve anti-inflammatory effect.
