Maca is originally produced in Peru. It has been edible in Peru for more than 2,000 years. It is planted on plateaus. Generally, it is most suitable for growing Maca at an altitude of about 3,500m. China introduced Maca in 2011, and there are also large area cultivation in Yunnan and Tibet. The planting area is mainly distributed in Diqing and Shangri-La in Yunnan. The altitude of these two places is above 3000m and there are gentle slopes which are very suitable for the cultivation of maca.

What nutritional value does Maca have?

Maca contains a variety of nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, fiber and fat. It is often said that it can improve male sexual function. The macamides and macaenes are the main active substances which obtained from maca extract, they contains special amic acid formed by amino group and fatty acid. These two active substances play an important role in regulating the human endocrine system and are equivalent to human hormones, which can comprehensively regulate human body functions and balance endocrine. 

In terms of anti-fatigue and strengthening immunity, Maca can also reduce MDA content through the body's SOD activity, reduce the accumulation of free radicals, and accelerate the timely removal of lipid peroxides in the body, thereby delaying and anti-fatigue effects, and improving immunity. Experiments have found that maca extract can greatly enhance specific humoral and cellular immunity.

1. Office workers
